Family

I figure I better start this journey by reassuring anyone who may read this now or in the future that my husband and kids mean more to me than anything else in the world.  I say this because future posts may cause my devotion to be questioned.  I love them beyond words but I am also brutally honest about the trials and tribulations that come with a marriage and raising two kids.

He and I have been together 27 years, married for 23 years.  He is my partner, my friend, my confidante.  He knows absolutely everything there is to know about me.  We laugh every single day.  Also, he is capable of bugging the ever living shit out of me like no other.  I’m positive he’d say the same about me.  Even when I want to kill him, I can not imagine a single day without him.

My son and daughter, at 20 and 18, have become two young adults that I am proud to unleash on this world.  Everyone talks about the enormous love you’ll have for your kids.  Of course.  That’s the easy part.  What they don’t tell you, is how often you’ll dislike them a little bit.  My children are my pride and joy and a huge pain in the ass.

There it is.

For the record, I love them.  Remember that when I’m ripping them to shreds as I regale you with anecdotes.
